A Whole Year has passed

So hard to believe that a year has come and gone since I last visited this blog??
I guess I am not very good at this kind of thing. I really spend much more time on Facebook
because that is where I am most comfortable! Today, I was just thinking and thinking led me back.
So here I am to update you:
Our little shop has expanded..big time!! We have gone from three rooms upstairs in Farmingdale to
8... plus hallways! Outdoors, there are 3 cottages. One with front and back spaces! We have Antiques, vintage and repurposed items, along with jewelry, candles, signs and all natural bath & beauty products! I am still doing estate sales, so we always have new items coming in. If you are ever in central Maine...do stop by for a visit!!

I love the smell of spring!!!

How do you describe spring to someone who cannot smell??
Earthy..sweet...with a clean freshness? The smell is a tease of flowers soon to sprout
of hope that the earth is being reborn. Everywhere the snow is melting, and from the
hill at Remember me, Remember when, I watch the ice break up and the river begin to flow again, for me it is like waking up after a long dark night. I have never been a lover of the cold and snow. I am a sun worshipper, a garden girl! I flourish in the flowers with my hands in the dirt. This is the beginning of my time of year...and let me tell you...I am ready!!!!

This week at Remember me, Remember when...

                                                                The snow is melting

The ice is breaking on the Kennebec

Every thing smells fresh like our candle of the month!

We can sit out on the deck

Hope has arrived

the sun is warmer

our dreams of gardening have begun to come true

we are finally able to get outdoors

the birds are all returning

we think about spring cleaning

time to soften up those chapped hands

and enjoy the sweetness of Spring!

put away your boots & put on your garden shoes

it is a time to reflect and renew your soul

wash away the grime of winter

and await the joy of flowers

Grey can be beautiful, especially when holding flowers!

Do you yearn for another era???

                                                                               I do...
a time and place where life was simple
when family sat a table for dinner
and actually spoke without cell phones or texts
food was fresh and made from scratch
                                                          there was time for romance
                                                                     and gardening...
                                                      I dream of those times
and places I would like to visit someday
things that were once important and when quality mattered

You cannot control Mother Nature

                                                            God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change
                                                                         courage
to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.

This most Romantic time of year!

How can you not embrace romance at this time of year??

If you have had enough of the cold drab days of winter
make something special of Valentine's Day.
At Remember Me...remember when. We are in love with
love! You can enter our "Love Story Contest", test your knowledge
of famous lovers from literature. We have items for your dinner party,
plus many, many antique, vintage and newer items to help make the holiday special
or at the very least to help you pass these long cold winter days until spring returns.
Come in for a visit..the teapot is always on!
