The end of summer...
Does anyone else feel this empty feeling as the end of summer approaches????
I know the weather might still be beautiful until the end of October..but nevertheless I always
feel so sad at the end of August!...I love everything about summer
and yes..even the heat..so I have to swallow hard and throw
myself into another mindset to get ready for Fall. Don't get me wrong, there are many beautiful
things that I love about the Fall season also..it is just such a bittersweet goodbye...hmm, I do love
Bittersweet...and pumpkins...and Halloween...ok..maybe it won't be SO bad!
We are still adding lots of pretty things to our booth at the Hallowell Antique Mall..so stop by when you get a chance. They are open 7 days a week until 5:00PM!

Many shades of white
Thinking about white Wednesday...and the many, many shades of white.
I love the way white makes me feel so clean so fresh..even when it is old and chippy!

August at the Hallowell Antique Mall
Well my vacation is over, sadly my company has all gone home to various parts of the country and I am left to savor the memories and the many pictures I took while they were here. The good thing is that I have put
all my restless energy into our booth at the Hallowell Antique Mall (it needed it) We have lots of new little
farmhouse finds and the mall itself it just full of goodies..I have included a few pictures to give you a glimpse
inside...please check them out and if you are in the Hallowell area, do come visit!!

Vintage 4th of July
This spring and summer my thoughts have run alot to time and rememberance.
We are on this earth for such a short time so to leave our mark is an important
thing for many of us. My love for "old things", bits and pieces of the past has always
been with me. I still hold dear a set of books my father brought home when I was about
seven, he found them when clearing out a property and gave them to me.."Ridpath's
History of the World". I first read about Abraham Lincoln in these books and memorized
the Gettysburg Address. (Yes, I was quite the "nerd") Someday I will pass them on and hope
that they will be treasured by the next owner as much as they were by me. We can only hold
on to material things for the brief time we are human...we have to pass them on...and in the passing
we hope that a part of us will be remembered as well.
